Card: GeForce 7950GT
Drivers: Whatever was on nvidia's site yesterday
OS: Vista Business 32-bit
OC Software: Riva Tuner, verified with GPU-Z
I'm trying to OC this card and get the most out of it, but it seems like overclocking the ram doesn't do anything. I can OC the GPU just fine, and I know for a fact that it works because the video drivers will crash and they will reset if I overclock the GPU too high. The vram is a different story. I started at 700MHz and moved up in 20MHz amounts to determine stability, and it just never crashed at any setting. To make sure Riva was even doing anything, I set the ram to 1000MHz which would obviously cause artifacts and require me to reset the computer, but that didn't happen. Nothing happens. It wasn't faster, or slower, and it was still stable. When I open GPU-Z to check if the OC settings even went through, it does confirm that Riva's settings are correct.
What is going on? Why can't I OC the ram?
