I recently purchased a Seasonic SS-760XP2 power supply. I attempted to install it in my computer today, but the computer will not power on. The motherboard is an Asus P8Z68-V Pro (see sig for components). When I connect the power supply to the motherboard, the motherboard's power switch LED and reset switch LED do light up. However, pressing the case power switch (case is a Cosmos S) or physically pressing the power switch on the motherboard will not power the system on. The fan LEDs briefly blink on and then back off. When I connect the old power supply (OCZ ModXStream 600 W) back to the system, it powers on with no issues.

I've tried multiple cables, ensured that each cable was securely fastened, and yet, the power supply does not seem to work whereas the old one works without any issues. Any ideas? It is outside of the return window so I did email Seasonic support.

Thanks

EDIT: Just remembered that I have a power supply tester so I plugged it into that. When I turn the test on, it chirps and the PS fan never comes on. The 3.3 and 12 volt lights go on and off. Looks dead to me.

Goes to show that even the best manufacturers can have DOAs with manufacturing defects....

Without a proper autopsy, what exactly is not working will never be known, nor why it happened...

Now the question is do I risk installing my MSI Lightning GTX780 on this ModXstream while I wait for an RMA. I can't justify purchasing another PS right now while I wait because I won't have need for it.
