Issues with person who purchased camera.

I sold a Canon 40d kit on another forum to a guy and he received the camera and says there was a scratch put on the top LCD of the camera during transit from the plastic buckle on the stock 40d strap. I've never scratched the top LCD w/ a plastic strap in all of the SLRs I've ever had. There was no scratches on the camera when I sent it out But, I'm fair so I requested pictures of the damage to see what kind of action I should take.

The guy refused twice to provide pictures of the damage and I'm at a loss on to what my next approach should be since he says that if I don't PP him the cost to purchase the replacement parts he will do a chargeback. I do however have the funds and they are already withdrawn from the paypal account.

Hypothetically, If I can't make him happy and he turns into a bigger douche than what he already is.. What's the possible outcomes?

Edit:

I called Paypal and they pretty much said that theyre no help. Because theyre not out to protect sellers as much as buyers.

Cliffs:

1. Sold a Camera to a guy
2. Guy claims scratch on the top LCD.
3. I request Pics, guy refuses.
4. He threatens chargeback.

Have him send back the camera ... when you receive it (in the same working order you sent it out) ... refund him.

It'll cost you a bit but you will be free of this guy.

He refuses to show you the damage???

Since you already took out the money maybe you should just close the paypal account and tell him to go fuck himself.

While this a good advice, I would be afraid of repercussion from the dbag buyer to damage the camera on purpose before he sends it back to the OP. I think the OP should contact forum mods from where the transaction occurred and ask them to intervene.

As much as I'd like to.. I doubt that's an option. I'm sure Paypal would turn into douches really quick. I would then probably be getting a quick $800 bill from them. I'm probably going to get screwed regardless..

I am definately afraid of him trashing the camera before he sends it back or if he already trashed it and thats what this debacle is all about.

First time I've ever been in this situation and I didn't know it was that bad until I started researching my own issue.

Well, the thing that sucks about it is.. I'm in school and I sold the camera so that I could have a decent amount of money to spend on my family for Christmas. I have about $480 left but I imagine I'll have to find another $320 and be out the camera.

Cheers to the douchebag:beer: Hopefully karma will get him.
