I have a brand new Core2Duo 3.0 ghz machine with a GTX 260 card in it, and I'm using my 26" Olevia TV as its monitor, since it's going to be my media center machine as well as my primary gaming system. My problem is this:

When I go and try and configure Doom 3 for example, the maximum resolution I can get that actually works is 1024x768, and that is off center. The TV has weird resolution support and Doom doesn't have any of them. Is there a way to force Doom to run in another resolution?

I hope this makes sense. Any help would be appreciated.

You can force it but the aspect ratio will remain the same, 4:3, doom 3 does not have widescreen support.

According to widescreen gaming forum it just requires an .ini file edit to change the aspect ratio. Its been awhile, but I seem to recall it working as expected for me.
