Issues with my P5B VM

I put together a little micro-ATX system so I could move it around more easily. After a very brief and ugly attempt with an AMD 64x2 chip I ended up moving to a Conroe system. I am having a "few" issues still and ideas would be nice. This is how it looks:

Ultra Microfly Case with 400W PS
Asus P5B-VM
Core 2 Duo E6300 (Retail with Stock HS)
Leadtek 7900GS
2x512MB OCZ SpecOps (Listed as 667Mhz 4-4-4-12 1.9V)
2x512MB G.Skill (Listed as 667Mhz 4-4-4-12 1.8V)
250GB Sata HD
NEC DVDRW
Foxconn WLAN PCI

I have done no overlocking of anything with this computer. I don't see much of a need to add any more instability or heat to this small system. I am only running Linux on it at the moment, but none of my issues seem to be software related.

1. Computer won't POST with over 1500MB of RAM detected. I had to disable the automatic sensing of RAM speed to be able to POST with more a single stick of RAM. I set the Voltage to 1.9V (It can only go up to 1.95V), and with the most recent BIOS all the timings set to 4 seem to be fine. I would like to have all my RAM working. I've shuffled all the DIMMs around in various ways and have never seen 2G detected from the BIOS.

2. BIOS overclock rescue. This amazingly good features resets the BIOS after failed overclocking and other similar things. It also resets it to defaults where it tries to detect memory timings. This fails. And forces me to remove most of my RAM, then reset the BIOS to workable settings. Then I can put the RAM in again and hope it boots.

3. False starts. Any time I take out the AC plug or turn off the power supply, when I next boot the computer with false start. It will turn on for a second or two, power down, then start again. This isn't much of an issue, but I hope it's not damaging anything.

4. Whacky PCI slot. If I put my wireless card in the PCI slot directly in front of the PCI-E16 , It won't POST. I have put a PCI SB Live card in it to test and that seems to be fine. The 1/4 height PCI wireless card would be ideal for me to put in front of the Video card and not block it's fan. This is effectively making it so I only have 1 PCI slot in the computer.

5. Asus Bundle. This motherboard came with what should have been great quick connect plugs that take all the loose connectors from the front panel and allow you to deal with them more easily. Only it didn't include the most important connector of them all. The front panel audio. They also don't have an SPDIF connector anywhere or a bracket with the thing.

All these problems and it still almost works. Which after all the headaches feels pretty good.

Sorry I can't help with any of your odd issues, but I happened to have a copy of yur manual on my desktop. (been looking to purchase one)

The SPDIF header is near your PCIE 1X slot. (right by the CD audio connector) pg. 30.

If the SPDIF module isn't available thru regular retail channels you can probably get one on ebay. (I am using an Asus module an a Biostar mobo in my HTPC. I had to pin mod it to match the Biostar connector)

Hope this helps a litttle anyway :p
