I just bought an mx500. Uninstalled Intellipoint software, installed latest Logitech drivers, and I rebooted. Now, Im getting missed movements, horrible cursor lag and skippage. I've tried it in both ps2 and usb ports, same problem. Any ideas?

Not sure if it matters, but what are your system specs? OS?

I know you said you uninstalled the Intellipoint software, but it appears to be related to that. You might try uninstalling the Logitech software and what happens....

I ran it with native XP drivers, I figured installing the newest Logitech drivers would fix the problem..

XP 2200+ 512MB DDR PC2700
VIA KT266 (I'm not to knowledgeable of motherboards, and I have never updated it with any new drivers, maybe I should do that?) VIA site?
WinXP Home SP1

I ran SiSoft Sandra to get mobo info..

I would try the MX500 in another PC to be sure it`s not faulty,it does seem that it might be a software problem, the only real way to do a clean install of Logtiech drivers etc and get rid of the old Microsoft ones would be a reformat and clean install of OS.

Btw what surface are you using the mouse on?

Finished wood desk.. never had a problem with any other type of mouse on it. Maybe I could try using a mousepad with the mx500?

Yep try it with different surfaces, also normal size A4 white paper(like used in inkjet printers) would work well just to see if the MX sensor responds better on top of the white paper then your wooden desk.
