Issues with my cousins PC...

Hey..
About 2 days after I built my cousins PC, and they were using it fine for a few days, it just stopped turning on. Now, the surge protector said surge, but that was briefly mentioned. It worked perfect. I tried everything, and regrounded it and all.
Is it possible the mobo fried or something..
(BTW, the PC Link LED comes on their cable modem, so I dunno if the mobo is fried

Do the fans inside come on inside the case? If they do, this sounds suspiciously close to when my vid card wasnt seated COMPLETLY in the case (had to bend the card's metal piece to get that thing to stay)...if not you need to try another power source...

If it was the power surge, something might well have gotten fried. Check the components (cpu, ram, video card, etc.) in another computer. Also, try another power supply. Maybe it wasn't the power surge, but something worked loose - check cpu, ram, and video adapter seating. And check the power switch - sometimes the wires come loose.

You said cable modem, but was a normal telco line connected to a analog modem?
Phone line surges kill modems (and video) easy.

There was no modem and phone line in it. There were no storms or anything, so that's why it's suspicious...
The fans come on, but no bootup, and no noises
