Issues with Logitech DiNovo

I saw the Logitech DiNovo at Best Buy and couldn't resist. I've never really dealt with Logitech for support/drivers for any previous products I've owned (never needed any)

The Mediapad is pretty sweet, but the fact it only works with Microsoft Messenger for IM, Outlook for Email & MediaPlayer for music. Pretty much kills it for me, I don't use any of those programs. I sent them an email asking if they would be adding support for Eudora, Winamp, Yahoo Messenger. And they responded without telling me a damn thing.

I don't like the mediapad issues I bought up, I don't need Bluetooth (probably never will) which probably added 50-100 to the price. And I wish the Mediapad's LCD screen was backlit, don't see how they didn't include this. The screen is impossible to see in low light. I might sound nitpicky here, but for $250 they could have added a 20 cent LED light so I can see the screen, a nice blue would rock 🙂

but still in all, the setup rocks. Dunno if it was worth $250, but I love the feel of the keyboard, and the mouse seems really nice for a wireless.

anyone else have this? I hope Logitech releases a 2nd version soon and add's some more features.

I'm pretty content with my MX Duo... and I have the remote control for my TV Tuner set up to control Winamp too 😉

Anyway, for the MX Duo, there's a file you can edit to support the media keys with other programs. I'm not sure if it would work the same way with the DiNovo, but I would think that it should possible to use the play/next track/etc keys with another program... I doubt the display would work though.

I edited the media keys, but the DiNovo has a LCD screen that displays track title and information for mp3's, IM alerts, and email notifications. Only problem Logitech only had support for MS products and I use Winamp/Yahoo/Eudora so the cool screen is pretty useless. I technically can still control Winamp with it, I just can't get track information, which is kinda useful when I'm in the sack and don't wanna get up to look at the monitor to see what song is playing

*shrug*
