issues with ECS K8T590-A

I recently purchased a combo deal at Frys: AMD 64 3800+ with ECS K8T590-A. I been having issues for the last week and been trying to trouble shoot it.

Problem: Trying to install Win XP pro. It boots off the CD and loading the drivers. As soon as the drivers are in memory and it tries to move along to the next screen to install windows. I get this Blue screen on the bottom it says

pci.sys - Address F78360BF base at F782F000, DateStamp 3b7d855c

Whats currently in the system

3800+ AMD64 X2
ECS K8T590-A
1 GB cosair value ddr (512x2)
Evga 6800GS PCIe
seagate 160 gb (SATA)
maxtor 80 gb (SATA)
lite-on CDR/DVD
Cooler master 360 watt (borrowing from friend)

Things I have tried so far.
-update BIOS
-used a parrellel HD
-used different memory (single 512 DDR)
-used AGP card
-used different optical drive
-exchanged new motherboard (same model) same error

Things i haven't tried.
-use a different CPU (probally won't be able to)
-use a different PSU (might pick one up tomorrow)

As I was Frys exchanging for a replacement mobo. another person had the same error. could it be my PSU or CPU?

Thanks in advance.

same thing happened to me with the ecs bundle at frys.
i didnt have a lot of time to troubleshoot and there are a few instances of this i found by googling.
ended up returning it and getting another motherboard.
sorry i cant be more help but you're not alone in this.

i was using a fortron source 400w ps. but i didnt have that much hooked up to it. i do my installs with the mb, video card, hd and dvdrw only. so i'm reasonably sure that it wasnt the ps.
also, the same ps is now running a complete system with an xp3200+ overclocked past 3500+ and 2 hd.

I am currently using all my connection with my PS. My video card requires that it needs 2 molex on their own rail. All my molexes look like they are on the same rail. Anyone else have any input?

You've ruled out just about eveything. Bios settings could be a factor as could any mobo jumpers but my bet is the psu.
Your welcome

Ok i just replaced the power supply with an Antec 500 watt. Still no go.. wow this sucks. Not sure what to do now.

I had a mobo that would give blue screens at the same time you describe, it did not give a file name like yours, but disabling everything I wasn't using (floppy controller, 2nd IDE bus, serial ports, etc.) on-board via the BIOS settings fixed the problem.

Have you tested your ram? Bad ram will cause a lot of different troubles on install ... although I must admit I don't recognize the error code you gave us ... other than its a memory related error.

I'd try to run Memtest on your memory before you buy/replace/rma any other hardware.
