I used my cdkey to validate a game. It recognized it and allowed me to download it.

Once i start up the blizzard downloader it tells me i cannot download the game because i am not authorized to do so.

This is vanilla D2.

Any thoughts?

No need to if you use your own cdkey...

I understand that, but i remember a nocd crack was very annoying to do with a legit cd, i can't imagine it working without. I just suck at cracking games.

If running Vista, make sure to right click the blizzard downloader file and run as admin. If this still doesn't work, you can follow Blizzard's advice (I emailed them about this problem months ago):
"This issue is most often caused by a corruption in your user account permissions in Windows. Please follow these instructions to create a new temporary administrative account and attempt the download in that login:

Windows XP:
http://www.microsoft.com/windo...up/winxp/accounts.mspx

Windows Vista - Please follow the instructions for setting up a new user account on a workgroup, not a domain:
http://windowshelp.microsoft.c...-8a6023836e531033.mspx

Once you have created the user account, please log in and attempt the download again. Once the download is complete, you may delete the user account following the same steps, but selecting Delete instead of Create."

Im using Home premium edition, so it didn't allow me to do that (odd). But i did just enable guest user and didn't even have to log in as guest for it to allow me to download it. Anyways thanks for clearing it up for me.

Looks like im having the same issue with D2LOD but this time enabling the guest user is not helping. I can't even post on the official Forums with the cdkeys (Already posted it would tell me but it doesn't), nothing is easy these days, har!
