Issues with DD-WRT and client bridge

I setup a secondary router as a client bridge to provide connectivity to my satellite receiver and 360. However, I'm having some pretty major issues with it. Even though I have it setup as a client bridge (not a repeater bridge or AP), it's still broadcasting. Since it has the same SSID as my primary router, wireless clients that are closer to this router will randomly attach to this one instead, losing connectivity to the internet. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to resolve this?

I'm a fan of using WDS rather than bridge modes, if only for ease-of-use.

Yeah, I actually read about that a few minutes after my post and went ahead and set it up. It was a little more work than client bridge, but it's working now. I also have the added benefit of having a repeater without having to setup the repeater bridge mode (which I hear is pretty buggy).

Hey I'm working with a similar situation, did you use a guide or anything when setting up WDS? I attempted to get it going but it didn't seem to work. Any link or a description would be appreciated, for reference I have a DGL-4300 as my main router and I believe it does WDS, I'm using an Asus WL-520gU as the wireless bridge with DD-WRT.

Did you reset to default setting after the flash? DD-WRT has very flaky behavior sometimes without that reset.

AFAIK, the DGL-4300's WDS mode doesn't support decent security, so from that point of view, you'd be better off using client bridge mode.

Is WDS AP better or worse than regular AP mode? I've set mine up in regular mode and everything works well except the ping time for gaming is just terrible.
