I am having couple of issues with the pc I just put together.
a)First floppy drive light stays on when the pc is turned on , it doesn't turn off.
b)Second nothing is showing up on the moniter, I tested the moniter, card. The problem I have is when I insert the card in AGP card sometimes I heard the click sometimes I dont. So is the issue is with the card not in properly or the slot is bad.

Specs:-
Asus K8VSE DLX, A64 3200+, ATI Radeon 9600 Pro. Are there any issues with this card and A64.

The floppy light stays on all the time if the cable is 180° backwards at one end. Turn the system off, unplug the floppy cable from the floppy drive, flip it end-for-end and plug it back in.

The video card should work in that board ok. Could you tell the full specs of your system including the brand & model of the power supply, memory modules and case?

Uh oh, I scared him away

willbemcse, the next thing I was going to ask was whether you remembered to mount the motherboard on standoffs. If you didn't, then one result would be that the motherboard would sit too low in the case and the AGP card wouldn't be able to fully seat in its slot. The bigger issue is that without the standoffs, the underside of the motherboard will short-circuit to the case. Anyway, hopefully yours is happily sitting on standoffs :) but people do forget sometimes.

New AGP slots can simply be stiff, too. Don't be shy, there are two layers of contacts to get through.

Hello: I seem to be having the same problems as willbemcse... My ATI 9800 AIW Pro simply blank screens on the ASUS K8V deluxe mobo... Verified card seating and mobo power supply (both 4 pin and 20 pin). Strange thing is that an old 8Mb PCI VGA card works okay  ...
