I'm having a router nightmare right now.
I currently have a Netgear Super G router set up. It keeps dumping the internet though; this is happening with increasing regularity. This can occur randomly but increases when I am doing high bandwith activities like video streaming or gaming. If I power cycle the router then the internet will work again. The best example I can give of this is in WoW. I tried to join a higher pop server and the internet would crash within seconds. I then switched to a lower population server and the game worked. When I went into a high population area of the server (Orgrimmar) the internet dropped and would drop everytime I tried to re enter the game.
I have another netgear router (WNR834B) that I had set up at a previous apartment. I have the same ISP as I had then (Roadrunner). I reset the router to factory settings. When I hook up the router to set it up it keeps thinking my cable internet is a static IP. Is there any way I can fix any of these routers?
