Here's my wireless setup and source of endless problems.
My roommate has a Linksys Router/Modem and I have a Linksys PCI Wireless Card WMP11 on my desktop. Both are B port types. I can connect to the Internet fine but I can't believe any online games like Counterstrike.
I have opened the right ports, did the port forwarding and even turned on the DMX Server but no luck. The Linksys guys are no help. PC Connection person rambled on something about access point issue.
Should I buy an updated Linksys Card or another reliable brand like Netgear? What should I do?! Any help would be appreciated.
Also I bought a new HP comp Athlon 2400, XP, 256mb RAM, etc. Even when running old games like Tribes 2, it seems rather slow. Um, even my old P3 seem to run it faster. Do I need more RAM cause of XP? Or is it the game?
Also, I have the old hard drive from my virus/spyware infected computer. I have some applications and files I want to still use. What should I do? Guy an application to transfer files? Just install it to the new comp? Thanks.
