Issues getting core temp readings

I just upgraded my processor to a Q9550 from E4500, did not overclock, but tested the temperatures. Regardless of the program I'm using to get core temp readings, my core 2 and 3 readings are always at 41C, meaning they don't vary with the load (e.g., when I run p95 stress tests). I used speedfan, coretemp, realtemp, and getting the same result. Core 0 and 1 temperatures are in the low 30's on idle and vary based on the load. Is the issue with the processor or my mother board not reporting the readings correctly? I have GA-P35-DS3L running F9 bios. Before my Q9550 I had an E4500, the temps on the cores read correctly, i.e., varied with the load.
