Issues Encoding a TV Show

So i have these DVDs of Arrested Development Episodes.....

I ripped each Episode to a .VOB file which happen to be about 800mb a piece

When I DL episodes (20 or so minutes) off BT, they are always 175-200mb in size...

Therefore I set agk to encode them to xvid, with an end result of 200mb

But they look like crap....very blocky and just bad...no where NEAR what you can DL

My question...what am I doing wrong??
