I've swapped out my mobo, cpu and ram due to a failed mobo. Almost time for an upgrade anyways. Well I want to boot from my XP cd and do a Repair on XP to get all of the drivers and stuff going right so I don't have to wipe and start all over. XP does indeed boot up, but with 640x480 res and just about no drivers working, like for wireless mouse yet my usb keyboard does work. Well in the BIOS I did select the CDROM to be my primary boot device before the HDD. I hear the CDROM spin and read while the PC is booting, does it for a little bit and then goes to the XP slash screen and boots into XP. I confirmed that the CD is good by inserting it into my laptop and the autorun dialog appears. I've tried two different optical drives too, same exact results.
Are there any issues with this board and it not liking to boot from a CD? Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!
