Issue with videos from camera

Hi,

I have a Ricoh GRD camera. I love my camera, and I rarely used it for videos, but sometimes I do. It takes movie clips at 320 x 240 30fps into an AVI (Motion JPEG).

Whenever I take clips with the camera, I see them fine in VLC, WMP and the like on my computer, but when I upload it to youtube or picasa, the video comes out to be like one second long and that's it.

For example, here's the original video file: http://www.zshare.net/video/1248684967d58667/

And here's what happens when I upload it: http://picasaweb.google.com/al...to#5194491588501420434 (May have to use IE, the video playback doesn't work in Opera for me.)

Google recognizes it as a video file, has the functionality, but for whatever reason it only shows 1 second of the clip. I can confirm that all 15 megs get uploaded, as I tried multiple times (it's noted on the right anyway). This also happens when I upload to youtube.

So, what am I doing wrong? I'm thinking it's because the file is MJPG - Do I have to convert the file to something? I've been trying to convert it to something else, but whenever I try to convert it in any program, I get sound but no video (Vegas, WMP) - any other converters out there to try?

I've looked out there on various forums for any guidance and I can't seem to find anything, so your help is appreciated. Thanks

Ok, I've tried like 4 different converters and all do the same thing. I thought SUPER would work - it looks like a converter that handles everything but, alas, no go. I guess I'll never be able to have my vids online :(

It could just be a problem with that zshare host, but the original video link doesn't work either, so it might be an issue with the video itself. If you can't convert it to another format, that is another reason to believe it's a problem with your original file.

Not sure I follow - I just downloaded the video from the zshare link and it's fine. It should be about 15.1 MB (15,797,832 bytes) and VLC and WMP both play it fully (it's about 15 seconds long). It's only when I upload that it gets cut short. All of the videos from the camera are playable on the camera and on my machine, not sure what else to do?

This is straight from my camera - I can't get the video to work/convert to anything else. That's my problem.
