Issue with Sharkoon gaming mouse

Got a Sharkoon Fireglider, Win 7 picked it up fine but the Mouse Editor software keeps saying no mouse detected. Tried different versions of the software from website, uninstalling my microsoft wireless mouse driver...software still won't pick it up. Not very useful without the software because Windows just detects it as an HID-compliant mouse and there are absolutely no options other than adjusting sensitivity. Furthermore, couldn't find anything on Google about this issue and not feeling very confident about e-mailing their support. Hoping maybe someone reading this has a Sharkoon and came across the same issue.

Edit: I gave it a reboot for shiggles, and the MS wireless mouse came back in Device Manager. Should I be uninstalling intellipoint software to get rid of all traces of my Wireless MS mouse? I have a wireless hub for both keyboard and mouse, I'd like to continue using keyboard so don't want to botch anything that would mess with that.
