I've been trying to configure a program calle Ventrilo for ingame chat with a bunch of my friends, and they say that when they use their mics, they CANNOT hear themselves through their own speakers; I however, do.
(Mic is plugged into the PC) I've been trying to find a solution to make my speakers NOT play what's said through the mic, but I can't find any. When I goto Control Panel, Speech, an error message reads: "The Requested task cannot be carried out becasue the necessary engine could not be created. Please select a different engine and/or a different audio device."
And there's no progress after that. I've tested on my laptop and Ventrilo works successfully on it and I've tried mapping steps back onto the PC, no luck. Ever heard of that error message/any ideas what I can/should do?
