Issue with new LCD used as a PC monitor

Hi everyone,
Probably a straight-forward question but I wanted to have a second opinion before returning the TV.
I bought a 32" 1080p LCD to use as a monitor for my PC. The particular TV I bought comes in two models - a 1366x768 version and a 1920x1080 version. I purchased the 1920x1080 version.
When I started using the monitor, setting it to 1920x1080 causes the viewable area to exceed the borders of the screen and the text looks ghosted. However, resetting the resolution through the nvidia control panel recommends a 1366x768 resolution for optimal performance.
Although both the box the TV was shipped in and the manual say that it is a 1920x1080 TV, I think the manufacturer messed up and sent me a different TV than what I ordered/what the box says.
I just want to make sure that there isn't some setting tweak I am missing or some setup feature I didn't do before I contact the place I bought it from to have them send me what I was supposed to get.

is the TV model # printed on the back of the TV or anything?

the new nvidia and ati drivers are pretty good at automatically setting the correct LCD resolution, so it's probably the wrong TV.

Hi - thanks for the reply. I checked the back of the TV - the model number corresponds to the 1080p model according to their website (Seiki Digital). Hmmm...so unless its a mislabeled TV in the wrong box I must have the right TV - is there any other reason why it might not be extending beyond 1366x768 even though it is a 1080p model?
I am now wondering though based on what you said about the drivers whether this is actually a video card issue and this thread should be moved.
I am using the latest 280.26 nVidia drivers so they should detect the TV ok, but there might be another issue.

Does the TV have different Modes and have you selected the incorrect Mode by chance?

OK, changing the mode seemed to do it (although I had to create a custom resolution as well) - the manual doesn't factor in PC monitor usage so their definition of 'standard mode' is different than mine:D
