Hi all-

I finally got everything together and installed, along with XP pro, but I'm getting a random crashing problem. While surfing the web or even just pokeing around XP, the system will crash to the desktop and I will be in 640x480 at 4bit color!

It will say Windows System Error and prompt for a reboot, which puts everything back to normal. Nothing is overclocked, YET, and I'm running a 9700 pro and a P4 2.66.

Is this a known problem?
What is the fix?

Had the same problem...

1) Disable "Enable write caching" in Display Properties/Advanced/Troubleshooting
2) Disable "Fast Wirtes" in Display Properties/Advanced/SmartGART
3) Set AGP to Auto in the Bios and 8x in Display Properties/Advanced/SmartGART

Did the fix work for you guys?

What's funny is that I've got 2 9700pro's & only one requires this work around.
