Issue with JPGs displaying odd in Firefox

Firefox 3.0.5
Windows XP SP3, all updates.

Most recent install was Daemon Tools, but things worked fine both before and after that install (about 3 weeks ago).

Last night Firefox started occasionally doing weird things with JPG images. Occasionally an image will load and appear as though it is corrupt.

Example: http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/z...volt/Error_Example.JPG

If I refresh the page, nothing changes, but if I clear the cache first, the image will reload just fine.

Refresh after clearing cache: http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/z...ter_Clearing_Cache.JPG

I have the machine set to using 0MB of cache, but I still have to clear cache before the image can reload correctly.

Have just started getting random "content encoding errors" on pages that should work fine. At this point I'm beginning to that I may be having a drive starting to go south.

Well, it's not Windows software, but I'd suggest trying browsing with Knoppix (and IceWeasel, FireFox without the copyrighted branding) for awhile. It might just be an internet connection problem.
