Issue with Firefox 2.0

On my computer when I first start up Firefox 2.0 (or if I reopen it after closing all the other FF windows) it takes probably 10-15 seconds to load my home page (which took about 2 seconds on the old version of FF). It's like it's doing something but I'm not sure what it is...the screen just stays white and then it suddenly loads it.

Anyone know what could be causing this?
 
Do you have any new add-ons/extensions? I had a similar problem until I figured out it was one of my add-ons causing the problem.
 
Not that I can think of...hrm...only think I bought in that time frame was a printer but I think I bought that after the drive stopped working correctly (although I could be mistaken). I can check...any other ideas?
