Hello, I currently have a Compaq laptop that I am attempting to get working with Divx and S-Video output. DVDs, Games, Applications output fine, however when I attempt to run Divx movies (using both Windows Media Player and the Divx Player) they play fine on my Laptop LCD, however they do not output to the TV, all I get is the respective player, and where the movie should be is only a blank black screen. Any idea on how this occurs? and how to fix it?

Input is appreciated.

The TV needs to be set as your primary display. You should be able to do that from Control Panel > Display > Settings or thereabouts.

Yeah, this should do it; I was trying to play an MPEG file on my laptop, hooked up to the TV - the desktop showed up on both screens (the laptop's and the TV) but the video window on the TV was blank - it was playing on the laptop only. I switched the TV to be the main display; both screens flickered off, and when they came right back, the video was playing just on the TV.:)

Thanks for the help, oddly I am unable to set the TV to primary, but I found a setting in the ATI Mobility Radeon software that let me activate it....

I appreciate the help :)

Thanks!

i usually extend my desktop to the tv and watch it there. Much easier than setting the tv as primary.

Yes I found out that works as well, however when I "unextend" the desktop, I have to go and switch the output to display identical to the LCD, rather than extended...so it ends up being a pain either way :)
