Hi,

I've just recently got myself a Samsung 204B LCD screen, mostly because of its low response time and decent price.

Here's the issue: I connect the screen by the supplied DVI cable to my MSI 7800 GTX 256, first DVI connector and the screen geometry seems to be quite corrupt. The thin black border between the monitor chassis and display area that we get when running in the native res (1600x1200 here) is not even in all places. It gets smaller in the lower right corner of the screen, where the display area alomst 'touches' the chassis.

The question is, do I got faulty unit?? Is it valid for an RMA ??

Thnx in advance for any help here,

Lor

Maybe they mounted the panel incorrectly. I don't know about others but I'd RMA the monitor.

Its DVI connected dude, so no adjustments are possible, it should produce geometrically perfect display..

I have the answer its cause the monitor sucks. I had 2 of them and noticed the exact same thing, also couldnt stand the horrible viewing angles of it. I now have the 215tw and while its better then the 204b in every way it still suffers from the border thing. I guess cause this one is a WS you dont see notice it that much, but it just seems like its something you either live with or try a different brand. the 204b also had a bright backlight bleeding issue along the top and bottom, more so on the bottom. I was just unhappy with the 204b for the price so for 20 bucks more I got the 215tw.
