Issue on vid card 6600GT

Mobo is DFI SLI-DR, 3500+ NC, neo power 480, water cooled cpu, OS is free windows 64 with all the drivers from nvidia. Whenever I have the SLI setup my monitor is plugged in the dvi outlet and it does not work, plug it in the vga and it does work on the first vid card. It shows the POST and the windows logo then after that a blank screen but I can hear the welcome logo of windows resuming, then I plug it in the second vid card vga outlet and I am logged on. It seems that I have to switch the vga plug to get signal. Can anyone help explain this and possibly help me out? Oh yeah, I have that molex power connector to power the sli mode plugged in the mobo also.
