issue of domain purchase for others

a friend in china asked me to buy a domain name for him at godaddy.com
I used visual credit card number and purchased the domain name. All the information under the domain name, such as address, name, contact number were fake. He transferred the money to me before the purchase.
Later I found he had built a site under the domain and it was an adult site.

Is there anything above that is against the law?

Registering a domain name with fake information is most likely illegal. But I have no clue really.

Yup. There are some ways around it, such as using your domain registrars whois protection service (WhoisGaurd, for namecheap, or Private Registration, for GoDaddy)
