Issue finding games (steam)

Tonight for the first time I tried playing some multiplayer in a couple games. Killing Floor and Team Fortress 2. I am able to use the Steam client to find games and join them but when I am in the actual game and go to find a server nothing happens. No servers show up. Any idea why this is happening?

Are the settings in the server browser different in game then not?
