And for that matter I also dislike certain aspects of US foreign policy which also has nothing to do with any given religion.

As you JOS as a British citizen, have cetain hypocracies to live down. You may have been a critics of Tony Blair as GWB's personal poodle, who committed British Troops to both Afgahnistan and Iraq. As you eagerly were one of those troops who went to Afghanistan and ethuiastically committed your self to a failed Afghanistan strategy that was bound to fail. And it did fail in a spectacular manner. Yet now, I hear not a peep from you when your own British government very recently sent a delegation to Netanyuhu and said, the British government would not support a premitive Israel attack on Iran. What is the matter with you JOS, you should take to the streets, all one of you, and call the British Governement all anti-semetic Jew haters for failing to support the current Israeli government foreign policy to the hilt.

On a more serious note you can see how the leaders use Jews (such as Syrias Assad) to make their people more agreeable with their own actions.
