In Israel, dissent against the war in Gaza is bitterly quashed. The few who speak out complain of being harassed, intimidated or even sacked. The once mighty left has disappeared

The OP is a knee-jerker posting a weak response to the other thread.

Something that may have passed his notice is that the Israelis criticizing Israel have no fear of repercussion and aren't afraid to name themselves and their displeasure. Yet he ignores the fact that the Palestinians criticizing Hamas are deathly afraid of providing a name because they know if they did they would be imprisoned, or dead (probably along with their families), in no time, by their own government. That's the difference between a Democratic nation and a brutal dictatorship that pretends to be democratic.

But the Hamas cheerleaders in here would NEVER recognize that fact. Keep up the pretense that you are supporting "freedom fighters," fools.

Hamas, ISIS, and the Israeli government are all terrorist organisations, and all of them and their followers should be exterminated so the rest of the people there can live in peace.

I was just reading that < 1 in 10 Israeli Jews oppose the "defense against"/"assault on" (however one wishes to look at it) gaza while I am sure that much > 1 in 10 palestinians opposes gaza. Basically, the number of Israeli Jews who oppose their govt's actions is equivalent to the number of Americans who oppose their own govt.

In other words, it would be just as misleading or ambiguous if I were to start a thread titled "Americans are anarcho-capitalists".
