NBC (9/14, story 6, 2:05, Seigenthaler) reports, "A top Israeli official said today killing Yasser Arafat is still an option when it comes to Israel government's decision to expel the Palestinian leader from the West Bank." NBC (Aspell) adds, "Today, thousands of Palestinians sent a resounding message to the world: Yasser Arafat is their leader and leave him alone. The show of defiance aimed especially at the Israeli cabinet, which this past week threatened to send Arafat into exile, blaming him for terror attacks against Israelis. And today, a new threat. Israel's Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said killing Yasser Arafat is now an option." Deputy Prime Minister Olmert: "We will have to focus on the murderers and those who inspire the murderers and orchestrate the operations, and if necessary, to get rid of them. Arafat is not excluded."
