Well, since Sharon called all people that oppose the Israelies antisemitic, we apparently do hate jews... So why not just generalize the term and hate _all_ jews? (j/k i don't hate jews, not any more than i hate other religious people...))

It's almost always to generalize about large groups of people. I suppose that the 100,000 people who just demonstrated in favor of Israel leaving Gaza were "just being Jews." The thread summary was inappropriate.

Israel's Supreme Court lifted a temporary injunction on Sunday that banned the military from destroying any more homes in Gaza, saying the army was entitled to act in self-defence.

The army says buildings marked for demolition are used to launch attacks by Palestinian militants, who also smuggle weapons through tunnels under the border.
Israel says the missile strikes targeted armed militants. Medical sources said two of the three men killed in the first attack were gunmen, while the militant group Hamas said three of those killed in the second strike were its members.

Let's paint the whole picture, shall we?

And Ahmad Mughayer, 13, and his sister Asma, 16, were shot dead as they stood on the roof of their house. Both were hit in the head as they hung out washing, relatives said.

About 20 people were wounded in the air attacks, and Palestinian security sources told AP that two ambulances had come under fire from Israeli snipers, one of which was hit by three bullets.

The Rafah hospital and local clinics were reported to be unable to cope with the flow of bodies and wounded people. Troops have encircled the camp and cut a road to a larger hospital in Khan Younis.

also the destruction of all of those houses is not because they have been used by militants but because Israeli is making the no mans zone between egypt and gaza strip bigger and therefor destroying everything on in the area of the new zone

and whats more weird is that the Israeli court say ok destroy hundreds of palestinian homes, but no the idf can not destroy illegal settlments that no one lives in even though they are also illegal by israeli laws

Reportedly, the army has only uncovered 12 tunnels in the Gaza offensive, but has demolished over 600 homes. Doesn't sound much like a winning strategy to me.

The whole policy of destroying homes and buildings is apalling, and any person with basic moral values ought to know better. These are homes and businesses they are destroying, people's lives. Citing some gunmen firing from some buildings as an excuse to bulldoze entire blocks is pathetic! It's draconian collective punishment at it's finest which any self-respecting democracy should refrain from doing.

It's also a violation of geneva conventions, i.e. a war crime.

If you were being blown up by sucide bombers, you would do the same thing.

Destroy the homes that support terrorism. Don't tell me that they had nothing to do with it. They fully support and harbor terrorists, even if it is just moral support.

so in your world "moral support" is a crime worthy of death?

Help! It's the thought police!

Man, it scares me that people like you actually exist out there, and there is a small chance that they might wield some small degree of power. Honestly, I know the US educational system isn't the best, but there should be some sort of bottom line...

The fact of the matter is that BOTH sides are guilty of atrocities, anyone who supports one side over the other ("they're only bulldozing houses because of the suicide bombers" or "They're only suicide bombing because their homes are getting destroyed") is foolish.

Homes were being used to
1) Store munitions.
2) Interact with weapons smuggling tunnels
3) Used as firing positions.

All three of those items are "against" the rules and support the militants.

It may have been your neightbor that was doing it and not you, however, you accepted the fact that the neighbor was doing the wrong.

The sprialing cycle of violence these two peoples are trapped in is so sad. Almost no one comes out of this with their morals and humanity intact. It is tragedy writ large.:(

The zone was being expanded due to #2 & 3.

RPGs were being smuggled in via tunnels.
