Ya...except for that the US wasn't involved in a continuous ethnic and cultural cleansing campaign for 60+ years in Japan. And the US wasn't trying to annex almost all of the land from Japan to keep forever. And the US wasn't trying to rule Japan for the rest of time.
Oh and the last one, G-d didn't promise Japan to the chosen American people :laugh:

And don't think your IQ is high enough either, I would love to see what you would have done in such circumstances as the Palestenians had and have to live through...I don't blame your statement though, it's so easy to issue theories left and right when your sitting in the comfort of your own house in the security of your own country with everything at your fingertips.

And to answer people who are trying to derail this thread from the topic of Israel's actions to US policy, I say if you break it, you fix it. If the US intervenes anyway, then it better be a good intervention... who else ought to intervene? Fiji?

the quote really does address a powerful sentiment that we have the right an necessity to intervene, so it isn't really derailment.

i say that no one but the individuals who wish to do so should intervene ... not Fiji, but possibly Fijians ... and not America but possibly Americans.

the "if you break it you fix it" idea is good in theory ... but we can't fix anything and usually make it worse than it originally was. the idea that we should keep on going with something that is inherently a bad idea because we are already committed to it is also just going to make things worse and worse and require more and more resources that we have less and less of.

It sucks when one people treat another poorly, whether its Israelis treating Palestinians poorly or Serbs treating Kosovors poorly. But America should not get involved even when we disagree with what another nation is doing within itself (or even between themselves when it doesn't directly involve us). We should lead by example not by force. Let's do the right thing and show the rest of the world that the right thing is worth doing ... right now we are justifying the means via an end ... which is just what everyone else starts to do when they justify oppression for the accomplishment of a goal.

more leaders need to take ethics classes.

If it was really arab brotherly love like they will say when the camera is rolling, then there would be no problem if those other arabs would simple let their Palestinian brethren enter their country. But then that damn reality gets in the way.

Lets compare:

Concentration camps: Being taken from your home, split up by sex and seperated from your family, have the elders executed, use those young enough as slave labor and gas those who don't work hard enough. There will also be "scientific testing" to see what happens during a near drowning, testing twins to see if you hurt one will the other feel it and using ovens to dispose of the bodies.

Fulbright shcolars in Gaza: You want to leave but can't because the area you live in is controlled by terrorists.

Yeah those are exactly the same. Sorry for the sarcasm, but the comparison is foolish and actually diminishes what concentration camps were.


Edit: Israel is being this way because it has to--although there should be a mechanism in place to help these guys get out. Even then Israel has every reason to be suspicious of anything or any person living within the Hamas controlled areas.
