im in model UN, for those of you who dont know, its a high school activity in which we form groups and depate world problems as they would in the united nations. i signed up last minute as my friends needed one more for their group. i know very little about the israel/palestine situation, please educate me.

The world community divided the old Ottoman Empire. Arabs got 99.8% of the land, and the Jews got about 0.2%. The Arabs don't like a Jewish nation in their midst, so they are using the "Palestinian" people as pawns to try to destroy Israel.
