Israel Eyes Saudi Peace Plan

I really hope something comes out of this. I think this is the first time I've seen Saudi Arabia even suggesting that they would recognize the right of Israel to exist. To me, this is significant.

My, aren't you the optimist

Which Sharon strongly opposed. Hopefully, sharon won't be a stumbling block in this deal.

Time out, skippy. The Palestinians were a stumbling block, not Sharon.

Sharon was not involved in the negotations. Ehud Barak was the PM at the time.

I'm well aware of that, but Sharon was opposed to it as well.

It won't happen. If it does even get accepted (Very unlikely) the arabs will just want them gone completely still and nothing will change other than Israel's lost land. Israel will declare war to get the land back...you know what happens from there.

The thing is, it would be great to see peace in the Middle East. But there is two things

One) Would the Arabs really stop attacking Israel??

Two) Why should Israel give up something when all that the Arabs are doing is killing innocent civilians in terrorist activities. If Puerto Rico kept bombing Florida enough, would we give them their independance? (not an exact parallel but kinda close)

Three) If a lone bomber does something, will Israel just go back and retake the lands? Will it just be a cycle?

I added a third but that wasn't in my inital thought.
