Israel contemplating using low yeild nukes against Iran?

As much as I'd like to see Israel take care of business, I hope they don't use nukes....

Your title is misleading. A UK newspaper reported that israel is contemplating useing low yield nukes. Israel denied it.

I think it would be dumb for Israel to use nukes. They way things go anymore, there would be sympathy for Iran because mean ol' US-backed Israel nuked them...

While I dont agree with wiping them out. Both are the problem, if this was addressed instead of consistantly laying the blame on other middle eastern countries, a solution may present it self. Israel attempts to be the bully in the juvy hall, all the rest do is swing back.

I don't quite understand how, with a straight face, anyone can tell Iran and other countries in the middle east that they are not allowed to acquire nukes, but yet at the same time their neighbor Israel has plenty of nukes. If my neighbor has a gun and threatens me with it, you better believe I'm getting myself a gun as well, no matter what anyone else says.

i agree and this is really the reason why a lot of people hate isreal and the US. We have the most weapons of any country in the world and yet we yell at everyone for getting their own. I see why...we are a stable nation and we dont want unstable nations giving away secrets to terrorists and such...but from the standpoint of the unstable nations you can see how that would piss you off..

and if they nuke iran...****** is ****** gonna start.

The difference is, Iran says clearly that they want to wipe Israel off the map. THey say this almost daily. Its suicide for Israel to allow them to aquire the means to do just that.

Those countries signed the NPT, explicitly stating they would not make them. Israel has never signed it.

It's as simple as one agreed to and the other never did.

If Iran gets a nuke, Israel will have to nuke them. They can't project force over land, and if an air strike proves ineffectual, Iran will gladly use it as an excuse to nuke them. Not to mention they 'd move the nuke. Seeing as how the president of Iran has spoken openly of wiping Israel off the map, they wouldn't have much choice. Preemptive tactical nuclear strike.

yeah i know they have.

but again other nations really do not have a say. granted they can then attack and destroy them but then they should be sanctioned for that.

but either way its a nasty situation.

Israel wouldn't exist today if it wasn't for their policy of preemtive strikes. I hope it will never escalate into a nuclear strike situation, but I can totally see it being an option considering that Iran consistently and openly threatens Israel.
