I'll try to keep this short.

I stepped up to 7800GTX 512MB through EVGA's step-up program. Sadly, it was defective. Sent back for RMA and paid extra to have it shipped back UPS Express. Without telling me (and after charging me for the Express shipment), they changed the return shipping to USPS. I live in Canada, so such shipments can take a ridiculous amount of time. I've already been without my computer since last Tuesday, and it is quite likely the card won't show up for another week, maybe two.

I've already mostly had it out with EVGA, but it doesn't solve the problem of me not having a working computer.

At this point, I'd just like to go out and buy a new video card and sell my 7800GTX 512MB when/if it ever shows up. I really doubt I'll find a 7800GTX 512MB, and besides, it looks like the X1900XT is the better choice at the moment anyway (for a high-end single-card solution).

So...

I am in southern Ontario. I can easily make it over the border into Niagara Falls, Buffalo, etc. Does anyone know of a store in southern Ontario or just over the border in the US that has the X1900XT's in stock? It would also be nice if they aren't charging ridiculous amounts too. TigerDirect Canada say they have stock, but are selling the XT for $743 CDN (roughly $650 US).

Quick search reveals:

http://www.logiccomputerhouse.com/site/...esults&dbsearch_keywords=x1900&catID=0 (unsure if it is really in stock)
http://www.infonec.com/site/main.php?mo...bsearch_keywords=x1900&x=0&y=0&catID=0 (sapphire is available, apparently ($$$$$ though)
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/...p?keywords=x1900&image1.x=0&image1.y=0 (prices seem high. Retail stores in Markham and Etobicoke)

The X1900 series is a rare bird in Canada for some reason. I guess ATI wanted a hard launch in the USA first. Most Canadian shops sold out instantly (at a premium, I've seen the XT list at $850 )

Thanks for the links. It's nice to at least have a couple of more stores to choose from in the future. :)

Anyway, by some miracle, my 7800GTX showed up! I figured it was WELL past delivery time for any courier, but it's here. Hopefully this one's not defective.
