I am needing some help picking out a video camera to watch workers in our grading area. I need it to be unnoticable by them so they will perform like they would any other day. I am not looking to catch anyone doing anything wrong, just trying to see where shortcuts are being made in the grading process and try to figure out an alternative.

I will be in another town from where the setup will be so I don't know if streaming video will be an option or not. I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest way to go as long as the money can be justified.

The main thing is that the inspectors can't know that the cameras are there or they will act differently (obviously).

Suggestions?

absolutely... many states have laws against using cameras to monitor workers for any reason.

FWIW, I only need it to view from above the grading room table so no faces are needed, I just need to see what their hands are doing (or rather not doing).

Can we just assume this question is not for some perverse reason? I have stated my intention for this, please keep on topic, which is not to film some woman in a shower or in any type of private setting.

The camers I've stated would work well. Small and easily concealable in about any area. Also, you can run them wireless from a battery setup as well. Additionally, with a patch atenna you can broadcast the signal over a mile if you have a straight shot, less depending on interference. That of course requires a bit of extra effort and work but still easiyl doable if you mount your atennas is the right places.

Axis webcams are excellent, but not small. You could always hook up one of their video server boxes to a tiny analog cam.
