Does anyone make inexpensive / decently functional DVI switch boxes / switchers or DVI+USB KVM switches yet?

Something like a 4 port "electronic" DVI USB KVM for WELL under $200 (more like $50-$80), ideally?

Or at least a 4 port electronically switching DVI switch for similar cash?

I've seen talk of some relatively inexpensive HDMI switcher units that I've wondered about using in conjunction with DVI<-->HDMI converter adaptors to make a cheap DVI switch for multiple PCs sharing a LCD monitor. I'm not sure how well that'd work in practice, though.

Do normal PC video cards / drivers / OSs (e.g. Vista, 8800gt) have major problems with repeatedly switched DVI links to a single monitor?

What, no one on AnandTech has any experience with these?

I too am wondering about DVI switches. I'd like to be able to switch between notebook and desktop computer video output to a single display.

I presume as it's digital, using a DVI switch wouldn't result in any video degradation (unlike many KVM VGA switches)? I suppose this question is related to the OP's regarding what issues modern kit might have with switched DVI connexions.

As an additional complication, I'd like my desktop to support two monitors: so I'd have one DVI cable going from my desktop to the switch and then monitor 1, whilst another DVI cable connected direct to monitor 2. I wonder if anything peculiar would happen if I switched off the video signal to monitor 1...
