ISO: Comprehensive HPTC Info

I'm finally ready to build an HTPC, but have paid little attention to development of the software and hardware available.

I want to read about building one, specifically with the aim to build one to act primarily as an audio server, blending into my existing component audio. Serving video would be a nice plus but isn't the focus for now.

I'm sure there are sites that discuss this stuff in depth - I'm asking for links here.
