Isn't this USB?

I don't think so. USB has one connector of that outer shape, but the pins are all wrong. The USB-B connector has the four pins in two rows, not in a line.

Doesn't your manual say what type of connector?

Edit: Hmm, I thought the mini-B was 5 pins. But I guess it looks like there is also a less common 4-pin mini-B version like that (good for them for not coming up with a new name for a new connector , I mean mini-C would really confuse us). Live and learn.
 
yea, most likely proprietary.

It does look like a usb connection... it jsut needs a special connector so that they force you to purchase their cable. Personally, I'd strip an old usb cable, and attach the wires individually. But that would be a pain in the ass, hehe.
