Isn't there a battery "calibration" utility in Windows XP for laptops?

I believe this utility records the battery life on the battery and laptop. I just purchased a new 4460mAh battery for my Latitude C600 but I can't seem to find this utility anywhere. I did a search on TechNet but didn't come up with anything.

Does anyone know?

I know IBM has one for Thinkpad laptops that tell you all the information you need to know about a battery. About one that works with Toshiba, I don't know.

But as for MS releasing one? If they did release one, I'd like to know too.

I don't have a Utilities folder. Using WinXP Pro SP1 with all patches... Also TechNet doesn't have anything on this.

However it seems to me that WinXP automatically adjusts how much battery life is available based off of what task you are doing. Perhaps this is an upgraded battery optimizer feature....

The battery optimizer (more aptly called calibrator) with XP works to align actual battery capacity with what XP reads it as. The % it shows is based off an algorithm, and there really is no built in optimizer.

Sorry guys I don't know what to tell you then. I made sure of the path on my machine before I posted.
