Hi guys,

i started on my own and happily enough i have work :)
One of the things i do is giving lectures to university students and since i don't want to bore them I'm editing some movie and other video material into supportive av material.
I have a p35c-ds3 motherboard with an e6320 duo core and 4*1 kingston hyper x ddr2 800.

Now i want to upgrade the processor (and the memory?) to make editing (photo and video with premiere and photoshop) more comfortabe. I was thinking of a q9450 or a q9300 but i hear some incompatibility issues.

Programs: premiere pro, photoshop
Games: crysis, bioshock, flight sim
OS: vista 64b ultimate

What is a proccesor/cpu that can handle these apps with flair and won't cause compaibility problems.

All advice welcome
Bram

Additional question is that i have KINGSTON HYPER X 6400 4X1024 , would 8 gig make a lot of difference with the above mentioned apps?

futureproofing in the computer industry does not exist. buy todays technology, and then buy the future technology in the future, for less money overall then buying "future proof" tech now (even if you get REALLY lucky and it really does turn out to be future proof, which is rare)

The new processors such as the Q350 are supported, they will require a BIOS update to F5. I'd wait a bit for the prices to drop or get the Xeon X3350 (Q9450 in disguise) that's been floating around hot deals.
