Isn't pc3700 memory supposed to run at 466mhz?

just checking but isn't it supposed to be guaranteed to do the advertised speed and latencies or better????
if you got pc3200 that couldn't work at 400 mhz you'd be pissed right?

after RMAing their "pc3700 466mhz ddr cl 3-3-3-8" that was nowhere near those speeds, they send me stuff that's WORSE! no matter what the latencies (i even tried setting them to the slowest option on every category in my asus k8v) I couldn't get one chip higher than 415 and the other higher than 421.
Needless to say, I'm wicked pissed. you could do those settings or better on most cheapo ram like corsair value brand for a hundred $ less.
is there any possibility this is my mobo or something? I can get the htt up to 240 with the memory to fsb 1:1 instead of 2:1

any insight is appreciated

A 1:1 ratio at 240 would be DDR480 (unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, or I'm all screwed up by the A64 terminology).

yeah you're right but either a64 or asus mobos specifically use the ddr speed of the memory in the bios so it says 2:1 memory:fsb is ddr 400. the memory is really running at 200 mhz but has 400mhz effective speed cause of the double data thingy... I think in most other systems they just use the actual frequency right?

anywho i think i'm going to fill out another rma request. It might help if I get really grumpy.
