Isn't nForce just a high end integrated solution?

Everyone is flipping out about the nforce boards but isn't it just a higher end integrated solution (plug in memory and processor with hard drive and you have a system)?

Basically Yes. However it's the first integrated solution to offer component level perfomance on the Audio/Video, and it has a large number of other system/overall performance enhancing features.

Yes, you could say that, but until nForce, getting high-end and integrated together was impossible. As Thorin said, not only is the integrated stuff better than ever before, it will be the first mobo to offer dual channel DDR. That should be enough of a performance boost to justify a purchase.

the dual channel DDR is arguably just as if not more powerful that RDRAM on p4 systems. You'll actually see the true speed benefit of DDR systems.

I think they're great. Even if the boards cost $200, you only need to buy a cpu, HD, and case. You've got a new system for under $500. And if you need a better 3d card you can upgrade that.

The soundcard that is built in should rock, it has a built in nic, dual channel ddr, and I think most importantly it should FINALLY be an athlon platform without the via problems.
