Isn't it wierd that the FBI doesn't list the world trade center as one of Usama's charges

this is a stretch, but maybe because he never actually admitted it?

i believe he actually admitted that he's responsible for the others, but not WTC.

I think it's because blowing up the WTC is a New York crime, not a federal crime, and the FBI is strictly a federal agency.

You don't think federal prosecutors would consider transporting a weapon of mass destruction accross state lines a federal matter?

Does the OP mean the first WTC attack (the bomb back in early 90s) or the 9/11 one?

Unless someone has reclassified passenger jets as "weapons of mass destruction," you must know more about the 9/11 attacks than I do.

You don't think organizing the systematic hijacking of multiple planes (in multiple states) and arranging the deaths of thousands of people qualifies as a federal crime? I sure do.

Due to the fact that it crossed state lines, and involved a large government organization (FAA), it's probably a federal matter.

Metal tubes filled with jet fuel intentionally flying into buildings resulting in crumbling of the buildings and the deaths of over 3000 people. Sounds like Mass destruction to me...

I'm not an Osama appologist (he is an evil fvcker) but perhaps he didn't do it?

I mean, the REAL people who carried out the 9/11 events were dead on impact, right? Why is Osama always rated guilty more than those who did it by a factor of a billion? People just want someone to hang and it is hard to do that with dead bodies (well really NO bodies at that because, you know, they were destroyed on impact).

They should have tried to find some bone fragment, lied if it wasn't the terrorists, rubbed it and then burried it with a few hams & pork. That has to be some sort of eternal damnation for a muslim extremist, don't you think? ;)

Uh, well let's not forget that there was Philadephia and D.C. Plus, they used commercial airplanes, which are regulated by the government. Therefore, I think it would be a federal crime. Why they haven't charged him, or if they will, I don't know.

I guess it's a good thing you don't work for the FBI.

I'm sure hijacking an airplane is a federal crime, but I seriously doubt an airplane is ever considered a "weapon of mass destruction" despite that it could be used as one. Otherwise, we could have used the presence of an airplane in Iraq as proof that Saddam had WMDs

Bin Laden didn't hijack the planes, so he wouldn't be charged with doing so.

The WTC is not a government building; its destruction isn't a federal crime regardless of any federal crimes that were committed along the way and regardless of the number of people killed.

The Pentagon, OTOH, would be a federal crime. What I can't figure out is if the part about attacking a federal facility refers to the Pentagon or just the embassies.

Remember how the OK City bombers got federal charges AND state charges? Because it was a federal office building. If they just blew up some office building, there would not have been federal charges.

Perhaps there is a conspiracy charge available somewhere but not enough evidence for an indictment.
