Isn't it weird how sneezes have a smell, yet mucous does not smell?

If sneezes do have a smell, they have one for a reason. You get food trapped in your pores in your mouth/throat and when you breath out you can usually smell that (one of the reasons for bad breath). So when you sneeze, you have mucus (which apparently doesn't smell?) and your breath which could be a combination from your mouth's breath and your throat.

I've smelled it before and it stinks like snot rot or something, I don't think you can smell your own though, kind of like taking a dump :p

My brother in law was sick one time and each time he sneezed it made me want to throw up from the smell. :(

Only certain people have smelly sneezes. I had a friend that had smelly sneezes but he was the only one I remember that had smelly sneezes.
