"Thorin, it's not my job to "understand" the issue, that's what the software engineers at MS and Nvidia get paid to do. Is it the users' responsibility to understand why something is broken and tell the software companies how to fix it? No. So keep your asinine thread-crapping comments to yourself next time, Weenie Boy."

If you don't 'understand' the issue then it's hardly your place to flame a company and/or it's programmers for not fixing it. Especially when it's something that's behaving exactly as it was meant to and you just don't like it. (The problem your experiencing is between the chair and keyboard, which is definately not in the control of either MS or nVidia. Their software is acting exactly as it was meant to).

I haven't crapped on your thread at all (yet). Your question is valid, it's your attitude that's the problem.

" This issue can't be that big a deal to fix, right? It was never a problem with Win9x OSs, so can't MS and Nvidia get together and resolve it? Sheesh!! "

Well as you should now understand (after reading everyone elses posts) there is no issue at all for them to fix. However if you feel that there really still is an issue and that yes it's working correctly how it is but could be better done like "xyz" then why don't you start a petition or something that carries a little more weight then you ranting about something you hardly understand.

Ugh... I really wish they'd fix this damn issue. Installed my new GeForce4 Ti 4400 last night and spent almost 2 hours just trying to get my refresh rates working correctly. The NVreffix.exe doesn't work with the 27.42 drivers that my card came with so I spent alot of time surfing forums trying to figure out how people fixed it. Went from using hacked drivers to using Multires.exe to manually editing the registry. Finally found a hacked version of the 27.51 drivers that worked with NVreffix and that's solved it so far.

Drydale is back again with another question: I used the NVREFFIX utility (thanks dukdukgoos) and changed my refresh rate to 85hz and now my 3DMark 2001 SE scores went down almost by 200. Is there a reason why higher refresh rates caused my benchmark scores to go down?

Could you point me to the hacked 27.51 drivers that work with NVREFFIX? Been waiting for a new version of it to work with them.
