Isn't it a little bit ironic that Michael Jackson died of heart disease...

Here was a guy who tried his best to distance himself from his racial identity but instead made a freak out of himself. Ultimately, he fell prey to a disease that affects so many of his fellow black Americans, rich and poor.

FYI:

- Nearly 4 in every 10 non-Hispanic Black adults have cardiovascular disease, according to the American Heart Association.

- Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of African-Americans, claiming the lives of 37 percent of the nearly 288,000 Blacks who die each year, according to the association.

OR maybe he ate too much fried chicken and not enough fruits ... like watermelon.

There's already a stickied thread on MJ's death. We don't need a separate thread for each aspect of his death. -Anandtech Moderator DrPizza

Pretty sad, yeah.

Although, we don't really know if he had heart disease. It seems like he would have top medical care.. If he had heart disease, he should have known it and adjusted his lifestyle accordingly.

What is even more sad is that you would laugh at Michael Jackson's death. Michael Jackson's life is a sad story that ended in a sad way. I feel sorry for the guy.

you can't plastic surgery your way out of your genes, no matter how hard you try.

I'm sure the sordid details will start pouring in soon enough.

I'm not exactly laughing and I don't feel sorry for the guy. Tragedies in celebrities' lives don't affect me at all. When they become famous and super-rich, (intentionally or unintentionally) they detach themselves from reality. After that, it's all a freak show to me.

I don't think Michael Jackson turned white because he didn't want to be black. For one, he was kinda nutty after all that fame at such a young age, and two, he got those whitening treatments because he already had a discoloring disease, and he didn't want his skin to be all splotchy. He wanted a uniform skin color. Unfortunately, science only can go so far.
